Fishless Pie

This comforting ‘fish’ style pie filling is sensational. It’s all about recreating the experience - creamy, savoury, and full of nostalgic flavour, without the fish. The mashed butter beans give it a soft, flaky texture that mimics fish surprisingly well, especially when paired with ingredients that add subtle hints of the sea and fresh herbs.

Notes

If you want to serve this as a traditional “fish” style pie - Once you've made the filling, transfer it to baking dish and spread it out evenly. Spoon over mashed potato over the top (made separately) smoothing it out to cover the filling completely and lightly roughing the surface with a fork. Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is lightly golden with a slight crisp. Remove from the oven and allow to sit for a few minutes before serving.
