Russian Salad

Commonly known as olivier salad, this dish goes by many names and variations across Europe, from ruska salata (Russian Salad) in the Balkans and salatka jarzynowa in Poland. This is my vegan take on a childhood classic of mine. No matter the occasion, you can always expect to find this on the table at a Balkan gathering. If you don't like mayonnaise, just skip this one...

Notes

The black salt is essential for that “eggy” flavour, so don’t skip it. The combination of smoked and silken tofu works well as a replacement for the ham and boiled egg traditionally used in this dish.
